Musicians Making A Gift Come True Supporting SICKKIDS Foundation
This is a truly inspiring story. Razorback Magazine has been deeply honored to partner with some of the most talented and generous musicians from around the world to support SICKKIDS Foundation. Through their collective efforts, the musicians have donated their time, talent and proceeds from their music sales to help the Foundation support pediatric health care and research. Their passion for making a difference in the lives of children and families is deeply inspiring and contagious. We are truly humbled and grateful for their dedication and commitment to this cause. It is our honor to write this story.

BROOMFILLER have released their new single, “12 Days of Christmas”, and in doing so have lent their support to the SICKKIDS Foundation. The song is about wishing the best for a good friend in need, and all proceeds from the song will be donated to SICKKIDS.
Making a Positive Impact
BROOMFILLER have made a commitment to making a positive impact on those less fortunate, and this song is a testament to their commitment. For the band, the song is about making a dream come true, and for the SICKKIDS Foundation, it is a commitment to help sick children get the best treatment available. With the support of BROOMFILLER, the SICKKIDS Foundation will be able to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
The Story Behind the Song
Richard D. Leko (Founder of BROOMFILLER) wife’s God Daughter, Sarah Hamby, first had Leukemia when she was 3 years old. She was a flower girl at our wedding, with no hair, dealing with her cancer. I had originally planned to do a punk rock Christmas cover of Silent Night in 2014, but was dealing with the passing of my Dad in January 2014, and my Mom’s decline and passing in December 2014, so i ultimately put it on the shelf and couldn’t deal with it then.
Fast forward to 2020, and Sarah was not doing well, and was battling her Leukemia for a 5th time. I decided to open up the Silent Night sessions and work on it further. I managed to get some fellow musician friends to contribute vocals, and I released the song with all of the proceeds going towards Sick Kids hospital on behalf of Sarah.
Then in 2021, Sarah had beaten her cancer and celebrated her 13th Birthday cancer free. I did another Christmas cover, this time of Jingle Bells.
Then in 2022, Sarah became sick again and was battling her Leukemia for a 6th time. Things didn’t look good, but she battled on like the brave girl she is! I decided to cover “Joy to the World”.
Fortunately for Sarah, in 2023, she beat her Leukemia for a 6th time, and celebrated her 15th birthday cancer free! I decided to do a cover of “12 Days of Christmas”
A true warrior Leukaemia Princess Sarah is, and we all want to help all children become warriors too. Leukaemia princesses are brave, courageous and inspiring; they are an example of what strength and perseverance looks like. We all want to help these children to keep fighting and look up to them as they battle this tough illness. By supporting these children, we can help them reach their full potential and continue to be the strong warriors they are.
Funds raised on this page support the highest priority needs of SickKids Foundation and are in honour of Sarah, who beat her Leukemia for the 6th time. Each year, BROOMFILLER releases a holiday cover to raise money for SickKids. See below for their previous releases.
” We are all so thankful Sarah is currently cancer free”
