OSU’s Special Needs Livestock Show Shines Bright
The Leflore County OSU Extension Center recently made history by hosting a free special needs livestock show. This event was a true testament to the power of inclusivity and compassion, providing children with special needs the opportunity to connect with animals in a safe and supportive environment.
Organizer Liana Jones: A Beacon of Hope
At the heart of this groundbreaking event was the incredible organizer, Liana Jones. Her dedication and passion for creating inclusive spaces for all children truly shone through in every aspect of the show. From coordinating the logistics to ensuring that every child felt welcome and valued, Liana’s efforts did not go unnoticed.
Making Dreams Come True: The Magic of Animal Interaction
One of the highlights of the special needs livestock show was the opportunity for children to interact with a variety of animals. From gentle horses to playful goats, the children were able to experience the joy and therapeutic benefits of spending time with these beloved creatures. The smiles on their faces and the sense of wonder in their eyes were truly heartwarming to witness.
Meeting Pistol Pete: A Legendary Experience
As if the presence of the animals wasn’t special enough, the children were also treated to a visit from none other than Pistol Pete himself. Beyond being a mascot, Pistol Pete is a symbol of the Cowboy spirit and a beloved figure in Oklahoma State lore. The children’s faces lit up with excitement as they got to meet this legendary character in person.
The Power of Prizes: Rewarding the Children’s Efforts
Every child who participated in the special needs livestock show was a winner in their own right. Thanks to the generosity of the organizers and sponsors, the children received a variety of prizes to commemorate their experience. From adaptive art supplies to books for all ages, the children were able to take home a piece of the magic they had experienced at the show.
Prizes Provided for the Children:
- Adaptive Art Supplies: Specially designed crayons, markers, and drawing pads for easy and enjoyable artistic expression.

- Sensory Delights: Glow-in-the-dark items and sensory toys to captivate the senses and provide a thrilling experience.
Community Support: Coming Together for a Common Cause
The All for One Show would not have been possible without the support of the generous community sponsors. Their contributions helped make the event a success and brought joy to the lives of the children who participated. It truly takes a village to make a difference, and the community sponsors exemplified the spirit of giving back.
Looking to the Future: Growing and Impacting Lives
As the special needs livestock show continues to evolve and grow, the organizers are excited about the potential to reach even more children and families in need. By creating a space where all children feel welcomed and valued, the show is making a lasting impact on the lives of those it touches. The organizers are committed to expanding the reach of the event and making a difference in as many lives as possible.

Reviews
(1) We have so many students with special needs in and around LeFlore county and they often get
forgotten and looked over when it comes to extracurricular activities. More inclusive events like
the All for One Livestock show give theses kiddos more opportunities to participate and be
supported by the community!
(2) As a mom to a child with special needs I wish there would have been shows like this for my son. As
a grandma to a child with Autism this was an absolute wonderful experience for him to shine and
show off his skills. On of the best things I seen was the volunteers getting to learn about the
different abilities of these children and the complete and total inclusion for all of these kids. We
have been to so many livestock shows and this was by far the best show ever!
(3) People are what matter most even within the stock show community it’s the friendships you build
that make the most lasting impressions. This event was a chance for our stock show family to get a
little bigger, a chance to give the participants a brand new experience, and an opportunity for our
kids to serve their peers. Our community needs events like this to bridge the gaps within society
and truly bring our community together. I am so very thankful that 3 of my kids were able to be a
part of this and man it had a huge impact on their young hearts!
